COMMUNITY
COMMUNITY
We reinvest our income in a number of ways that support the local community. The team works on a voluntary basis and donates its time, materials and income to create free artwork in a number of formats. We have a set fee that all artists are paid - regardless of their influence/appeal - and cover all travel, accomodation and food costs, as too often artists are underpaid and undervalued for their time and work.
If you have a wall to donate, want to celebrate a cultural icon past or present with an inspiring story, are an artist or want to put forward a suggestion for a mural then get in touch. We aim to support 4 murals of this kind a year. Take a look at previous examples here.
We use paint jams to help make community events more engaging and visual, using permanent walls, hoardings or plywood cubes, inviting artists to paint using their full creative license.
Our team is available for events, whether you want a live street art installation, public participation spray painting or an activity for the kids we can tailor our approach to suit your needs.
CONSULTANCY
CONSULTANCY
We have established a creative consultancy that works on global projects with world renowned artists whilst supporting local businesses, not for profits and community groups.
We work with our clients to develop a creative strategy that will meet their objectives whilst also fulfilling the Wood Street Walls goals which we use as a benchmark for the projects we are involved in. If we don’t feel that a campaign fits with our vision and ethos then we choose not to be involved - we use art for change, not art of adverts.
We work with brands to engage with the public through artwork. We can support you to instal a specific artwork, respond to a brief or give an artist full creative licence to execute the mural based on your requirements.
We develop a strategy to reach a specific demographic or target audience. It is an effective method to get stakeholder buy in prior to a mural being installed. Our offering includes workshops with your target audience, public consultation at events and online polls.
We work with you to bring new life to a shop front and/or design new signage, both on and offline.

We erected our street art cube for the first time and offered visitors to the event a free activity to be part of a live mural painted over the weekend - more than 1,000 people were involved over the two days. We also had a stall on which kids could create their own bedroom signs using stencils, wood and spray paint at a cost of £2 per child - 300 kids were involved.
In the lead up to the painting of the Pick Your Project / William Morris mural, we worked with Bread Collective to paint a mural on the Salvation Army wall opposite the William Morris Gallery, during the Walthamstow Garden Party - this helped as a way to raise awareness of the wider project during a large scale event that guaranteed greater footfall.
Our moveable plywood cube was erected and artists were invited down to paint over the weekend - artists Olivier Roubieu, Elno, Carleen De Souza, Woskerski - giving visitors the chance to watch the painting in action.
